Souvenir Items Only in Mexico
Traveling to the beautiful place of Mexico is not complete if one was not able to shop some souvenir items that will best represent the tropical and exotic place of Mexico. Although Mexico has a burgeoning economy and the influences of well-developed countries, especially nearby America, have penetrated the lifestyle of the locals thereat – still, Mexico has remained as a place that is uniquely on its own, something that appeals much to its tourists. One important part in visiting Mexico is its souvenir items. Mexico’s souvenir items perfectly depict Mexico’s culture and colorful festivities, which make it one of the preferred vacation destinations among tourists worldwide. The Mexican sombrero is a good example of a souvenir. These colorful hats speak well of the fun festivities and music-loving Mexicans. The sombreros come in different sizes, and in various colors and designs. In hindsight, the original concept of the sombreros is having it as a protection for the face from the heat of the sun since Mexico is situated in a tropical area. Purely, a Mexican thing, the sombrero really makes one “Mexican” if in Mexico.
Another souvenir item that speaks of Mexico’s colorful culture is the Mexican sarape. This shawl-like piece of cloth is colorful with fringed ends. Traditionally, this is usually worn by Mexican men; however, as time passed by, this has become part of fashion that even women used it to accessorize their get-up. Sarape cloth is woven and come in different colors and length.
To those who love to drink and to “chill” with hard-drinks, Tequila from Mexico is a must-try and a must-have as a souvenir item. As a Mexico’s national drink, Tequila tastes its best if it’s from Mexico. One of the most popular and favorite drinks of all time, people from all over the globe should be grateful for Mexico for producing this alcoholic drink, which is a fixation for every occasion. A visit to Mexico will not be complete if one has not been able to taste and splurge Mexico’s Tequila. Furthermore, it won’t hurt if one will grab a bottle and bring it back home.
Another souvenir item from Mexico, which can also serve as presents for loved ones back home, is the Mexican maracas. A pair of maracas will best remind of someone during his/her visit to Mexico. This musical instrument construes the passion of Mexicans to music (Mexicans are known to be music-loving people). Made of dried coconut shells, maracas are used as percussion in music and are often used by Mexican singers. Maracas come in various sizes; there are those that come in miniature sizes, such as key chains.
Above everything else, another perfect souvenir during a visit in Mexico are photos that not only serve as proofs that one has really visited Mexico but also as a memorabilia during someone’s vacation in Mexico. Photos of Mexican places and people (as well as you, as a tourist) should be a must-have. A vacation to Mexico is not complete if there are no snapshots. Mexico is such a beautiful and bright place that photos during a stay in Mexico are really MUST. Everything will be forfeited if there are no photos. Remember, photos hold great memories as well.
